How to use the audio speed changer

    1. Choose an audio file.
    2. Set the speed and preview it in the player.
    3. Choose whether to keep the pitch, then save.

    Keep pitch or not?

With Keep the original pitch on, voices sound natural at any speed, which is ideal for lectures and podcasts. With it off, the audio behaves like a record played faster or slower: higher and faster, or lower and slower.

    Examples

60-minute lecture at 1.5×, pitch kept

    40 minutes, natural voice

    Song at 0.75×, pitch kept

Slower practice track in the same key

    Questions

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, about 31 MB) from this site. After that it’s cached, and the work itself runs on your device.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to a server.
