How to use the grade calculator

  1. Enter the points you scored.
  2. Enter the total points possible.
  3. Read your percentage and letter grade.

The grading scale used

A+ 97–100 · A 93–96 · A− 90–92 · B+ 87–89 · B 83–86 · B− 80–82 · C+ 77–79 · C 73–76 · C− 70–72 · D+ 67–69 · D 63–66 · D− 60–62 · F below 60.

Schools set their own scales, and some don’t use plus and minus grades, so check your syllabus if a grade is close to a boundary.

Questions

Can I get over 100%?

Yes, if there were bonus points. The letter grade will be A+.

How do I average several tests?

Add up all points scored and all points possible, then enter the totals. For weighted grades, use the average calculator on each category first.

Does it round?

Percentages are shown to two decimal places. Some teachers round 89.5% up to 90%; this calculator doesn’t.
