- Read the details, and watch for the location warning.
- Download a copy without metadata if you want to share it safely.
What photos can reveal
Phones and cameras record the date and time, the device model, camera settings and often the exact GPS location. Many social networks remove this when you post, but email, messaging apps and file sharing usually keep it.
